What cookies are and why we use them
A cookie is a small text file that a site asks your browser to store on your device. When you come back, your browser sends the file to us, so the site can recognise the device, remember what you did and keep your session running from one page to the next. Similar technologies, such as local storage in your browser and small image files used for measurement, work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too.
We use cookies for four broad reasons: to make the site work and keep your account secure, to understand how the site is used so we can fix what is slow or broken, to remember the settings you have chosen, and to measure how our advertising performs. Some cookies are set by us. Others are set by the suppliers who provide parts of the service, such as payment processing, game content, chat and measurement; these are usually called third-party cookies.
Cookies can be session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which stay on your device for a set period or until you delete them. The storage period for each cookie is shown in the cookie notice on the site.
The types of cookies we use
The cookie notice on the site groups cookies into the four categories below. You can accept or decline each category apart from strictly necessary cookies, which are needed for the site to function.
Strictly necessary cookies
These keep you signed in, route your requests to the right server, protect forms against misuse and remember whether you have already made a choice in the cookie notice. They also support the security checks that help us spot an attempt to use someone else's account. Because the site cannot be provided without them, they are set as soon as you arrive and are not subject to consent.
Performance and analytics cookies
These tell us how the site is used in aggregate: which pages are opened, how long a page takes to load, where a deposit or verification form is abandoned and which errors appear most often. We use the results to prioritise fixes and to make pages simpler, not to build a profile of you by name.
Functionality cookies
These remember the preferences you set, such as your language, your preferred layout, whether sound is on or off in a game and whether you have dismissed a particular notice. If you decline them, the site still works, but you may have to set your preferences again on each visit.
Marketing cookies
These record whether you arrived from an advertisement or a partner link, and whether a visit led to an account being opened, so that advertising spend and partner commission can be worked out correctly. They may also limit how often you see the same advertisement. We do not use marketing cookies to direct advertising at anyone who has self-excluded or who has asked us not to send marketing.
| Category | Typical purpose | Set without consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in, security, session routing, recording your cookie choice | Yes |
| Performance and analytics | Page, speed and error measurement in aggregate | No |
| Functionality | Language, layout and other saved preferences | No |
| Marketing | Advertising attribution and frequency capping | No |
How to manage cookies
In the cookie notice on the site
When you first visit, the cookie notice asks whether you accept cookies beyond those that are strictly necessary. You can accept all, decline all or choose category by category, and you can look at the cookies in each category before you decide. Your choice is stored so that we do not ask again on every page. To change it later, open the cookie settings from the footer of any page; the change takes effect straight away for cookies we control, and cookies already stored can be cleared from your browser.
In your browser
Every major browser lets you see the cookies stored on your device, delete them, block them for one site or all sites, and open a private window that discards them when you close it. The controls sit in the privacy or site settings menu, and the wording differs between browsers and between desktop and mobile. On a mobile device you can also reset or limit the advertising identifier in the system settings.
What happens if you block cookies
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off in the cookie notice, and if you block them in your browser the site will not work as intended. In practice you may not be able to sign in, stay signed in while moving between pages, complete a deposit or withdrawal, finish identity verification, or use live chat.
Blocking the other categories has smaller effects. Without functionality cookies, saved preferences are forgotten between visits. Without performance cookies, faults you run into are harder for us to find and fix. Without marketing cookies, we cannot tell which partner introduced a visit, so an offer that depends on a referral being tracked may not apply to your account.
Contacting us about cookies
If you have a question about a cookie we set, want help changing your choice, or wish to make a request about the personal data a cookie collects, write to us at support@casinogamdom.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. Please tell us which browser and device you are using, as the controls differ. Requests about personal data can also be sent to privacy@casinogamdom.co.uk.
We may update this policy when we add or remove a cookie, when a supplier changes, or when guidance changes. The version published here is the current one, and the cookie notice lists the cookies in use at the time you look at it.
Our services are for adults aged 18 or over, we hold a gaming licence and we verify accounts before play. If gambling stops being enjoyable, you can set deposit limits, take a time-out or self-exclude from your account, and free confidential support is available from GambleAware, GamCare, GamStop and the National Gambling Helpline. These tools work whatever your cookie settings are.
